'Up At The O2' With Charlton Athletic Community Trust
The Rivervale Minibus team were thrilled to be asked by Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT) to attend their trip to the O2 London on the 28th of March 2023, where the group took part in ‘Up At The O2’. The motivation behind this was to enable our team to see the hugely positive impact that the Minibus we provide creates first-hand!
This particular trip saw the minibus transporting the early intervention psychosis (EIP) team from Little Brook Hospital to the O2. The Ford Transit Minibus, which Rivervale provided in 2019, is used 6+ days every week for a variety of different projects. Trips like this enable these EIP clients to reintegrate back into society in a constructive and enjoyable way, getting them out to experience fun activities while continuing to build their relationships with the NCS Staff accompanying them.
Check out our video of the day here:
Other important projects that CACT use the Minibus for are:
- Older people's mental health
- Charlton Upbeats disability program
- Short breaks for 12-17-year-olds with special needs
- Many other incredibly important projects for the local communities!
The Minibus enables the families of these clients a well-deserved “rest bite” in which they can relax and take some much-needed time for themselves.
“Thank you to Chris, Terry and the team down at CACT. It was amazing to see how the Minibus is used, how it helps the community and how that helps them to reintegrate back into society. It was great to see projects that rely on our Minibus being so successful and important for so many!” - John Peterson, Head of Minibus
We would like to thank the lovely people at Charlton Athletic Community Trust for inviting us along for this experience, to see first-hand the difference that a Minibus could make to so many. It was inspiring and we would love to come and do it again!
