In leasing terms, a deposit is more of an initial rental payment. Unlike other deposits, this is not returned to the customer. However, it does impact the amount of money that you will pay month-on-month.
When you choose your lease deal, you can choose between an initial payment of 3, 6 or 9 months. That payment covers what would be your monthly fee for that amount of time. So, unlike a deposit, you don't get the money back, but it's also payment that you would spend on the vehicle anyway rather than a separate fee.
Paying a higher fee initially can mean your monthly payments work out cheaper. For your Skoda Kodiaq, you can pay 3, 6 or 9 months' worth of payments upfront as your initial payment.
