Read on to take a closer look at this exhilarating two-seater sports car.
Meet the Jaguar F-Type
The Jaguar brand is famous for manufacturing luxurious cars with incredible performance. The refreshed F-Type certainly fits the bill.
Available as both a hard-top coupé or soft-top convertible, this slim and agile sports car blends head-turning looks with a thrilling drive. Its sleek body features sleek lines and a polished appearance, while the luxury interiors ensure a comfortable ride.
When driving at full power, the exhaust emits a satisfying throaty growl. With all this in mind, this car has universal appeal to both petrolheads and the image-conscious.
With its dramatic J-Blade Daytime Running Lights and Jaguar grille, the F-Type maintains true presence on the road. Competing with the likes of the Porsche Boxster, it promises sharp precision and smooth acceleration.
Thrilling performance
Suitable for both everyday journeys and grand touring, the F-Type is available in a choice of trims. All options promise impressive performance statistics and a responsive drive.
Choose from the standard P300 F-Type, P450 R-Dynamic or top-of-the-range P575 R, all with automatic 8-speed transmission. The entry-level P300 F-Type retains the 2.0-litre turbo engine, providing 296bhp. Pick a Supercharged V8 option for the 5.0-litre engine, providing 567bhp, acceleration from 0-60 mph in under four seconds, and a top speed of 186mph. If you would like something a little more electric, why not read about why now is the best time to go electric?
The standard P300 and P450 R-Dynamic are both rear-wheel drive as standard, although you can choose to add all-wheel drive to the P450 trim. The P575 R is only available as an all-wheel drive.
The active rear spoiler adds a dash of extra adrenaline to motorway driving. When you’re travelling at speeds of 70mph and over, it rises to become visible through the rearview mirror. And for those times when you need to reduce the volume of the roaring exhaust, you can switch to quiet mode.
All trims include a raft of safety features as standard. These include emergency braking and forward-facing cameras. These features are essential to the safety of pedestrians and drivers. Are you aware of the changes to the highway code made in 2022 which aim to achieve the same thing?
Luxury aesthetics
There’s no denying the F-Type is a stunning sports car. Inside, Ebony or Light Oyster leather and suede cloth sports seats are included as standard. You have the option to upgrade to Windsor leather and performance seats if preferred.
Outside, you can customise the colour of the side vents, rear valance, front splitter, window surrounds and front grille. Jaguar offers a choice of exterior packs. Choose a distinctive Gloss Black finish with the Black Exterior Pack - with this option, the Jaguar logo/scripting is also in black.
Another option is the Black Exterior Design Pack. This gives you a body-coloured front splitter, rear bumper and side sills, plus Gloss Black front grille surround, side vents, window surrounds, Jaguar logo/scripting.
If you want to choose a different colour, go for the Exterior Design Pack. And if you want something that will really turn heads, pick the Carbon Ceramic Brake Pack. With this, you get Bold Yellow brake callipers to show off the 398mm front and 380mm rear carbon-ceramic brakes, plus 20” Satin Black with contrast-finish wheels.
The 10-inch touchscreen supports Interactive Driver Display, Heads Up Display, and Intelligent Voice Recognition. You’ll enjoy the benefits of Jaguar’s intuitive infotainment system, with its Touch Pro interface, including satellite navigation, music, and compatibility with both Apple and Android smartphones.
An optional panoramic roof is available on the coupé version. Boot space in the coupé is up to 509 litres when you take the parcel shelf out. The boot in the convertible F-Type is much smaller, which is something to bear in mind if you're going to be driving it for weekend getaways.
You can choose between two Meridian audio systems: standard 10-speakers with just below 400W, or premium 12-speakers with 770W amplification.
Although this is strictly a two-seater, there is ample space for two adults - you’ll just need to pack light for road trips and holidays!
Sustainability and driving
The bigger the engine you choose, the more expensive the F-Type is to run. For the most economical option, choose the P300 2-litre, which offers 31.2 mpg.
When it comes to Co2 emissions, the V8-engine models emit 249 grams for every kilometre driven. On the other hand, the four-cylinder option emits 179g/km of Co2, despite its output of 300hp.
