Rivervale's Guide to the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer
The BMW 2 Series Active Tourer is a new member to the BMW line up as production only began in 2014. It offers a practical and functional family car with all the sporty looks we would expect from a BMW.
The main feature of the Active Tourer is its flexibility. The entire back row of seats can be moved backwards and forwards to create either more leg space for rear passengers or more space for storage in the boot. Additionally, the back seats lower in a 40:20:40 arrangement so you can raise and lower each individual seat as you need to and the front passenger seat can fold forwards completely flat creating even more space for any longer items you need to transport.
BMW offer a range of petrol and diesel engines as well as the 225xe iPerformance hybrid which can travel up to 25 miles on electric power alone up to speeds of 78mph. This version is the most impressive in terms of fuel efficiency achieving up to 141.2 mpg with CO2 emissions of only 46 g/km. All engines are Euro 6 compliant and the Active Tourer has achieved a 5* NCAP safety rating.
