The Ford Fiesta ST-3 - Rivervale Review
If you're looking for a car that delivers a fun sporty hot hatch experience, then the Ford Fiesta ST-3 is perfect for you!
Interior & Exterior
The Ford Fiesta ST-3 is an upgrade to the ST-2 and comes with a decent number of added features. The stand out additional upgrades are the 18” alloy wheels with red callipers, the heated front seats and the heated steering.
With the 18” alloys it has that classy stylish look about it and the red callipers really gives the car a sporty vibe - both of which are standard on the ST-3. The heated seats and steering wheel are a nice touch and are especially useful to keep you warm in the cold winter mornings. Along with the heated steering wheel, it also has audio controls, so you can control the touchscreen and adjust your cruise control all at your fingertips. An 8” touchscreen is installed inside the car which wasn’t on the previous model.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity come as standard, so you can enjoy all the things on your smartphone whilst staying focused on the road. Inside the fiesta there are Recaro bucket seats which are made from Alcantara and leather making it a very comfortable and luxurious interior. The standard colour which comes with the Fiesta ST-3 is Race Red, if you wish to have another colour then that will cost. The colours available are Frozen White, Moondust Silver, Agate Black, Magnetic, Silver Fox and Ford Performance Blue.
If you appreciate the pops and bangs of the exhaust on a car then this hatchback has got exactly that! The car is fitted with electronic sound enhancement and active valve exhaust which is designed to create a deeper, rumble and roar depending on the amount of throttle you apply. If you choose the optional Performance Pack, it will come equipped with launch control, limited-slip differential and shift lights, which all make this car incredibly fun to drive.
Three driving modes are available with the Fiesta ST: Normal, Sport and Track. Each selectable driving mode fine-tunes the cars performance by adjusting the brake pedal, steering response, throttle position and the engine mapping!

Engine
The engine is a three-cylinder 1.5-Litre EcoBoost, whilst at a cruise the car will shut down one cylinder to conserve fuel whilst on your travels. In our 2 minute review video we averaged about 43mpg on the motorway which isn’t bad at all for which is considered a performance car.
Technology
- Launch Control – This is a system designed to produce a consistent take off and maximise acceleration. You can set the maximum rpm for the engine and put your foot down on the throttle whilst the car stays at your set rpm.
- Performance shift lights – The shift light indicator objective is to optimise your gear shift and improve your performance. An ST logo is placed in the rev counter and lights up to let you know when the best time is to shift gear.
