Exterior Features of the New Nissan Micra

Nissan claim the new Micra has been inspired by sports cars and there is certainly a new sleek look featuring premium details. There are signature LED daytime running lights along with a new design rectangular front fog lights. A new stylish front grille can be seen along with a floating roof and spoiler. Even the rear door handles have been hidden to keep the smooth flow of the body.

Interior Features of the new Nissan Micra

Inside features a new design dashboard wrapped in soft touch material and sports inspired D shaped steering wheel. To make sure you don’t get too comfortable the seats are ergonomic anti-fatigue by design. In a first for the Nissan Micra the BOSE Personal Audio system is now available. This system features 6 speakers, 2 of which are located in the driver's headrest providing 360 degree high definition sound for all occupants. In the centre of the dashboard is a 7” multi media screen to control music, navigation and manage calls.

New for the Nissan Micra is the addition of the Advance Drive Assist Display comprising of a 5” TFT screen displaying information such as; fuel economy, turn by turn navigation, driving aids and other communications in an easy to glance at position in the centre of the instrument panel behind the steering wheel.

Even though the Micra is a small city car the boot capacity is still respectable at 300 litres increasing to 1004 litre with both rear seats folded down. For transporting longer items the rear and passenger seat can both be lowered. The glovebox has had an increase in size to 10 litres and is large enough to hold a 2 litre bottle of drink.

Safety and Driver Aids

The new Micra is packed full of the latest technology including features such as;

• Intelligent Lane Intervention - the car will warn you and then correct steering if you are drifting out of your lane without indicating.
• Intelligent Emergency Braking – the car will warn you and then apply the brakes if a risk of a forward collision with a person or another vehicle has been detected.
• High Beam Assist – high beams will be turned on automatically and will also dip automatically for oncoming traffic
• Intelligent Around View Monitoring – using 4 cameras the new Nissan Micra can give you a bird's eye view of the vehicle when trying to park. It can also provide a split screen view to give you a close up of the front, back or curb side of the vehicle to avoid any scrapes!
• Traffic sign recognition
• Blind spot warning
• Moving object detection

Engines Available

There are currently 3 engines available. 2 are petrol engines with the 71 PS 1.0 litre engine has a top speed of 98 mph and 0-62mph time of 16.4 so is the slowest of the choices. The IG-T 90 PS turbo petrol engine is slighter faster with a 0-62 mph time of 12.1 seconds and provides 64.2 mpg while emitting 104g/km of C02. The only diesel engine on offer is the DCI 90 and is the most economical with 88.3 mpg with emissions of 92 g/km of C02. It is also the fastest engine in the new Micra with a top speed of 111 mph and a 0-62mph time of 11.9 seconds.

There are more personalisation options than ever before with over 100 configurations of interior trims, door mirror caps, body side mouldings, front bumper finishes, back bumper finishes and body decals to choose from.

Trim levels Available

The usual Nissan trim levels apply to the all-new Nissan Micra with the Visia representing the entry level, through to the Teckna which gets you the BOSE Personal Audio Pack, All Round View Camera and 17" alloy wheels.
